Election Dates

Primary Election – June 2, 2020 7 am until 8 pm

This election will be primarily a “vote by mail” election. This means that The Board of Elections will automatically mail a ballot to all eligible voters. You do not need to ask for a ballot to receive one.

The Board of Elections will mail your ballot to the address The Board of Elections have on file. If you want your ballot mailed to another address or download it from their website, please visit the Maryland State Board of Elections Absentee Voting page. All mailed ballots included a return envelope and prepaid postage.

•      To reduce the risk of spreading the novel coronavirus, we recommend that voters who can vote by mail do so. Voted ballots must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

•      Voters who prefer to drop off their ballots can do so at designated ballot drop off locations from – Thursday, May 21, 2020 through Tuesday, June 2, 2020. A list of drop off locations  in Cecil County are as follows:

o   Cecil County Administration Building: 200 Chesapeake Boulevard Elkton, MD  21921

o   Rising Sun Town Hall: 1 East Main Street Rising Sun, MD  21911

o   Perryville Middle School: 850 Aiken Avenue Perryville, MD  21903

o   Bohemia Manor High School: 2755 Augustine Herman Highway Chesapeake City, MD  21915

•      If you are unable to vote by mail, you may vote in-person on Election Day, June 2, 2020, at a vote center in the jurisdiction where you live. In Cecil County, citizens will be able to vote in person from 7 am to 8 pm at the Cecil County Administration Building 200 Chesapeake Blvd # 2100, Elkton, MD 21921.
